Timmester Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

My name is Tracy, and I am super passionate about photography!  I'm also really fascinated by people and how we interact with one another - when in love, with family, with friends, etc.  Fortunately for me, I have a career that lets me focus on these two passions!  I think photographs are so important.  I can't tell you how many hours I've spent pouring over my parents' old wedding album, my husband's childhood albums, and my grandparents pictures from the '30s and '40s.  I love that photographs can evoke laughter, smiles, and memories.  I think I have the coolest job in the world!

This blog is a diary of my most recent work, including weddings, engagements, portraits, lifestyle sessions, and the ocassional tidbit from my own life.  Please look around my blog and check out my main website.  Contact me if you have any questions or want to set up a consultation!  Thanks.

The IRIS Book

I heart this album.  I think it is so beautiful, elegant, and modern, and I love that it feels like a fine art photography album!  This book exists to showcase the beautiful photography within, in a subtle and beautiful fashion. What more could you ask for!?  Offered in eight luscious linen colors, this album comes with unique marble end pages and a stunning clam shell presentation case.  I love it, love it, love it, and was so excited when Shauna and Peter’s sample album arrived last week!  Check it out below :)

I also received my latest Finao sample album on the same day.  This divine little album is a 5×5 book featuring 30 photographs from Nadia and Ron’s wedding.  I adore the Finao books because they come in delightful textures and colors, like this sapphire brocade!

Miles’ 1st Birthday

Yesterday, Mr. Miles turned one, and we celebrated this awesome milestone with him in Philly over the weekend.  Miles is our nephew and he is one calm, cool, little individual.  It turns out the birthday boy is really fascinated by vacuum cleaners, so accordingly, the Dirt Devil toy vacuum he received on Saturday was a BIG hit.  As a result, this weekend included hours of “vacuuming”, as well as lots of cake consumption, some T-Ball in the driveway, and coloring with big-sister Janna.  It was such a great weekend, and we can’t wait to return for Janna’s 4th birthday in April for more of the same!

Gems from My Dad

My Dad is the most motivated person I know. He gets up at dawn and enthusiastically attacks his daily to-do list until the sun sets (sometimes later). Even in retirement, he keeps himself busy with constant projects and hobbies he loves. One of his current projects is to go through all 4000 of his slides and turn them in to digital files. This is a huge benefit to me because my entire childhood is on slide film! While my older brother has albums and albums of photographic prints from his cute toddler years, my toddler pictures are all slides and have been previously hidden away in a closet, ignored for years at a time. Of course, I’ve tried to encourage family viewings but really, who wants to look at them besides me? I had some success over the Thanksgiving holiday and my parents and husband lovingly humored me while we looked at old pictures on a warped screen with a wonky projector. As to be expected, there was football on in the background AND my husband promptly fell asleep. :)

But it’s a new day. Fortunately, my Dad is enthusiastic about this project and I get the occasional email with wonderful picture attachments! Despite the fact that I KNOW I’m the only one interested in these pictures, I’m going to share two with you. These were the first of the email attachments, and hopefully there are many more to come! I love how my brother and I rocked out 1980s helmet haircuts, not like we had a choice in the matter :)

According to my Dad, the picture on the left is just before my first sled ride in winter 1981, Stuttgart, Germany. The picture on the right is from a few years later when we lived in San Diego, with the aforementioned helmet haircuts :)
